DEPLORABLES: Trump, Breitbart, & Others
Took Down the GOP to Build a Media Empire

Depending on whether or not your support Donald Trump, you’ll either consider the latest revelations of coordination between Breitbart reporters and Democratic operatives as nothing at all or further proof that Trump has had as his primary goal the formation of his media empire after the election.

As someone who views Trump as only slightly less liberal and damaging than Hillary Clinton, it’s clear to me that Breitbart, Drudge Report, Infowars, Gateway Pundit, and other ultra-pro-Trump sites were banking on getting him nominated and then subsequently rising into his empire when he loses...

REPORT: Donald Trump Hosted Wild Parties Featuring
Sex, Cocaine, and Underage Teen Models

Donald Trump allegedly used to host cocaine-filled and sex-crazed parties at one of his luxurious Manhattan hotels -and invited models as young as 15 to attend them, a bombshell report published Monday claims.

Two men who used to attend the parties told the Daily Beast Trump would regularly throw the bashes in lavish suites at the Plaza Hotel, which he owned between 1988 and 1995. One of the men, a New York fashion photographer who asked to remain anonymous, said the billionaire businessman would take over entire corner suites at the Plaza for days at a time. He would then invite young models so that they could meet his affluent, older friends...

Trump Poll Numbers in the Toilet

Donald Trump’s presidential campaign slogs on, but he has effectively blown his chances at getting into 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
By failing to pivot through his convention, by failing to build a ground team in important states, and by failing to reassure voters uneasy with his primary rhetoric, Trump has killed his campaign.

The result: His numbers with college-educated voters and blacks have dropped dramatically, effectively locking him out of states such as Florida, Ohio, and, yes, Pennsylvania...

Treat Russia Like the International Poison It Is

Eli Lake @ Bloomberg:
Russia’s ambassador to Washington is disappointed. Despite great potential for cooperation, Sergei Kislyak told an audience Tuesday at Johns Hopkins University that the two countries are locked in 'unfriendly discussions.' Wouldn’t the world be safer and more stable if these two powers got along

With apologies to Ambassador Kislyak, the answer to this question is no. Contrary to his protestations, Russia is not invested in protecting the world order. It is dedicated to undermining the organizations, agreements and laws that comprise it...

Welcome To Steve Bannon's Trumpocalypse

Ben Shapiro @ DailyWire:
For the past few months, outsiders to the Trump campaign wondered how he’d been maintaining control of himself. I posited that campaign manager Kellyanne Conway had 'apparently been able to get Trump under control.
Like a pent-up movie monster chained to the wall of a dank dungeon,
Trump’s aggression waits – lurks.'

Here was Donald Trump tweeting this morning...

Trump’s Corruption of the GOP Is Almost Complete

'There are apparently no depths to which
some Republicans won’t sink for this man'

David French @ NRO:
Way back in March, my colleague Jonah Goldberg offered the perfect description of the way Trump’s endorsers become corrupted:
It’s the invasion of the body snatchers.
They’ve been taken over by a hostile organism.

Sure, they look the same, but, in Jonah’s words, 'They’re different, somehow. They talk funny. They don’t care about the same things they used to'...

Republican Friendships Being Lost Over Trump?
OH WELL- Some of Us Didn’t Sell Out

Jay Caruso @ RedState

I can't say I have lost any close friends due to my lack of support for Donald Trump. Many of my friends agree with me about his candidacy. There have been professional relationships that have been frayed and arguments with some friends over Trump but nothing serious.

There are however, deep divisions among some people, particularly with organizations, elected officials, party people and others who have jumped aboard the Trump Train after years of telling others he was an unacceptable member of the Republican Party...
